Various Species of Wood Floors

The first step in choosing a real wood floor is deciding which species you feel is best for your home decor.
Each species has its own degree of durability, beauty and performance.  A  standardized ranking system exists which compares hardness, stability and  cost, as related to a baseline species, Northern Red Oak.
Consult with one of our experts for more information on the many considerations in choosing which species is right for your home.
Below are sample images of various woods.
The top half of each image is finished with a water-based urethane, and the bottom half is finished with an oil-modified polyurethane.
